DUSTIN REID HEAD COACH OF RYERSON RAMS
Guest Coach at Waves In The Snow Camp December 28, 2018
BRONZE FOR 18U GIRLS
What an incredible weekend with this team!!! The growth that we saw in each of these young athletes in a matter of three days is unbelievable! We are so proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing them excel at Nationals!
A former Canadian national team player, Reid represented Canada in more than 120 international matches including two World Cups, the 1994 World Championship, and two Olympic qualification attempts (1996 and 2000). He also played professionally for four years in Germany and Switzerland after playing one season with the University of Toronto.
Prior to joining the Ryerson program Reid served as the Technical Director for the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) for four years.
Dustin Reid enters his 11th year as head coach of the Ryerson Rams women's volleyball program in 2018-19.
In 2017-18, Reid guided the Rams to a perfect 25-0 record in the regular season and playoffs. The Rams dominated their way through the OUA playoffs and fought their way to the top of U SPORTS, winning Ryerson University’s first-ever national championship in any sport. Reid took on double duty in 2015-16, coaching both the women's and men's programs at Ryerson. He took both to the OUA Final Four championships where both teams earned the silver medal.
The OUA Coach of the Year in 2009-10, Reid has transformed the women's program into an annual contender. In 2012-13 the women set a program best for wins in a season and qualified for the Final Four for just the second time ever.
CAMP OLYMPIA 2019
WAVES VC was excited to attend The Athlete Matrix this past weekend! The physical testing day is a collaboration between experts in Strength/Conditioning and Performance Science. The day was broken up into 3 parts: Physical Testing, Movement Screenings, and a Strength and Conditioning Workshop. A BIG thank you to the team at The Athlete Matrix for further developing our rising athletes!
WAVES VC is very proud of these young ladies who battled all day, resembled resilience, and developed a level of aggression as the stakes ramped up for the bronze medal match! This team fought hard with Predators and came out victorious. The club is excited to see the progress this fantastic team will make as the season continues!
